History LaFoi's MarketPlace was started by
Sylvia Gibb and
Radio Mario in 2006. They were looking for an easy way to sell advertising on their websites and blogs, and decided to place a small "Your Ad Here" link on each site to connect advertisers to an order form.
LaFoi's MarketPlace simplicity spread through word-of-mouth, and within the first two years, more than 1,000 sites were using
LaFoi's MarketPlace to sell ads.
The duo officially incorporated the company in 2006 and teamed up with
Lexuscom &
Lafoi.com, who’d previously funded companies including
Tera Nation,
Sane Domains,
Canadadating.us &
U-bid.us. Since then, thousands more advertisers and publishers (see real-time stats, above) have entrusted
